Smart Manufacturing Engineer, SW & Electronics

About this role

ICEYE seeks a Smart Manufacturing Engineer to design and maintain Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and satellite test systems that combine electronics, embedded software, and automation. You'll support the Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) and Production teams in Espoo on a permanent, hybrid basis, ensuring reliable pre-launch satellite testing while scaling next-generation test infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Support AIT and Production teams in operating and troubleshooting RF, electronics, and satellite-level test setups
• Design and develop EGSE systems combining electronics, embedded software, and Python-based test automation
• Implement embedded C/C++ code on ARM-based microcontrollers (STM32, TI) including bring-up and instrument communication
• Design or adapt electronics for EGSE including schematics, interfaces, power, and measurement paths
• Automate test instruments and workflows using Python and PyVISA to improve efficiency
• Create documentation and user guides, and collaborate with cross-functional Smart Manufacturing teams

What they're looking for

• Embedded C/C++ development on ARM-based MCUs
• Python programming for test automation and scripting
• Electronics design and PCB layout (Altium Designer or equivalent)
• Lab and RF test equipment operation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs)
• Test system architecture and requirements capture
• EGSE or spacecraft/satellite test systems experience
• Signal integrity and power design fundamentals
• Technical documentation and communication
