About this role

idler, a frontier AI research lab, seeks a Design Engineer to own the user experience for their RL environments and internal tools. You'll blend product thinking, design sensibility, and engineering rigor to build performant, intuitive applications that help leading labs interact with novel, complex AI training artifacts.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement a unified UI/UX system for inspecting and interacting with RL environments across internal and customer teams
  • Build and maintain a standard component library and templates for marketing materials following design best practices
  • Create visualization systems for environment tracking across hundreds of discrete iterations and steps
  • Conduct user research and iterate rapidly based on feedback from frontier labs and internal stakeholders
  • Own full-stack product development from concept through deployment and refinement
  • Ensure applications are robust, performant, and delightful to use
