Software Engineer, Backend

About this role

Imprint is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain critical financial systems powering modern co-branded credit card platforms and rewards infrastructure. You'll own end-to-end systems from transaction processing to credit decisioning while helping expand into new financial products, working with a fast-moving team backed by top-tier venture capital.

What you'll do

• Design and implement production backend systems for transaction authorization, ledger accounting, credit decisioning, and rewards engines
• Build new financial products and platform features alongside maintaining existing systems
• Develop shared services, API infrastructure, and developer tooling to improve team velocity and reliability
• Collaborate across product, design, infrastructure, compliance, and partner teams
• Ensure data consistency and transactional integrity in distributed systems
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis
