About this role

IEM is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Jacksonville, FL to drive process improvements and operational excellence in their medium-to-high-mix electrical distribution manufacturing environment. The role focuses on implementing lean methodologies, continuous improvement initiatives, and standard work while collaborating across functions to optimize quality, efficiency, and safety.

What you'll do

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes for improved quality, efficiency, and safety
  • Lead Kaizen events and structured problem-solving initiatives using A3, 8D, and DMAIC methodologies
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation
  • Perform data-driven analysis using SPC, Pareto charts, and time studies to identify bottlenecks
  • Support equipment selection, process validation, and lean layout optimization
  • Train operators and technicians on process changes and lean tools

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Structured problem-solving tools (A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, PDCA)
  • Statistical analysis (SPC, time studies, line balancing)
  • ERP/MES systems and engineering change control
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Cross-functional collaboration and facilitation
