Software Engineer

About this role

Instead is hiring a Software Engineer to build an AI-powered tax platform used by accounting firms and enterprises. You'll develop full-stack features, integrate production AI components, and solve critical bugs for a platform handling real tax returns and customer data.

What you'll do

• Ship end-to-end product features for the customer-facing tax platform
• Build and integrate AI-powered components with production inference and prompt engineering
• Drive product improvements based on customer feedback and usage analytics
• Resolve critical bugs across the full stack with high urgency during tax season
• Create internal tools and platforms to boost engineering team productivity
• Collaborate with product teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions

What they're looking for

• Full-stack development (3+ years experience)
• Frontend: Vue, Nuxt, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
• Backend: Go, Docker, AWS (ECS/Fargate)
• Databases: PostgreSQL
• AI/ML integration and prompt engineering
• Cloud infrastructure and scalable system design
• Production software development and debugging
• AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
