Frontend Software Engineer

About this role

Join Google's Intrinsic AI robotics team to build intuitive web interfaces that control industrial robotic systems on manufacturing floors. You'll develop real-time HMIs with 3D visualizations, integrate AI assistants, and create responsive applications that prioritize operator safety and efficiency in demanding factory environments.

What you'll do

• Design and develop responsive user interfaces for human-robot interaction using modern frameworks and reactive patterns
• Build and optimize 3D visualizations of manufacturing workcells using WebGL/WebGPU or game engines
• Create resilient web applications that function reliably across factory floor devices with variable network conditions
• Integrate frontend services with backend systems using gRPC and Protobuf for low-latency communication
• Prototype and integrate AI agents into HMI workflows to assist operators with decision-making and error recovery
• Implement comprehensive unit and integration testing while managing builds via Bazel and CI/CD pipelines

What they're looking for

• TypeScript, Angular, or React with 3+ years professional experience
• WebGL/WebGPU, Three.js, Babylon.js, or similar high-performance rendering engines
• gRPC, Protobuf, and client-server communication protocols
• Bazel build systems and CI/CD pipeline management
• Service workers and offline-first caching strategies
• Unit and integration testing frameworks like Jasmine
• Python or C++ backend code comprehension
• WebAssembly and/or Rust (preferred)
