About this role
Inversion seeks an Autonomy Engineer I to develop and validate flight software for advanced reentry spacecraft. You'll implement vehicle control logic, autonomy routines, and fault management systems while conducting simulations and tests to ensure safe autonomous operations.
What you'll do
- Implement vehicle state machines, flight sequencing, and mission autonomy in C++/Rust
- Develop and verify fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) software modules
- Execute software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and automated test scripts for flight software
- Analyze telemetry and logs from test runs to troubleshoot software anomalies
- Debug logic gates and verify autonomous behaviors for safe flight operations
