Software Engineer

About this role

IXL Learning, a leading EdTech company serving millions of learners, is hiring a Software Engineer to develop and enhance educational products. You'll work with talented engineers on both new initiatives and existing systems, contributing to the full development lifecycle from design through deployment.

What you'll do

• Build backend logic, application architecture, and user interfaces for educational products
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, code, test, and debug features
• Lead development processes including documentation, performance tuning, and quality assurance
• Provide project estimates, assess technical feasibility, and evaluate new technologies
• Work across multiple teams to communicate requirements and deliver product releases

What they're looking for

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Java or other object-oriented programming language
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Analytical reasoning and problem-solving
• Full-stack development (backend and UI)
• Code design and documentation practices
