About this role

Dictionary.com, part of IXL Learning, seeks a Software Engineer to develop and enhance products used by millions of language learners. You'll work on full-stack development—from backend architecture to user interfaces—collaborating with talented engineering teams on both new initiatives and existing platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop backend systems, application logic, and user interfaces for Dictionary.com products
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design and launch products
• Evaluate new technologies and platforms for feasibility and implementation
• Provide project estimates and assess technical requirements
• Work on both greenfield projects and existing codebase enhancements

What they're looking for

• 3+ years software engineering experience
• Object-oriented programming (Java or similar)
• JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Problem-solving and analytical reasoning
• Clear communication and collaboration
• MongoDB (preferred)
• Amazon Web Services/AWS (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
