Software Engineer

About this role

Jane Street seeks Software Engineers to design and build systems across the firm, from trading infrastructure to foundational tools. You'll primarily work with OCaml and Python in a functional programming environment while contributing to both internal systems and open source projects.

What you'll do

• Design and implement systems supporting trading desks and other business operations
• Build foundational infrastructure including network monitoring and risk models
• Develop tools and solutions for various teams across the organization
• Contribute to and maintain open source projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical problems

• Strong programming fundamentals
• Functional programming experience (or willingness to learn)
• OCaml or similar statically-typed languages
• Python for data analysis and machine learning
