Associate Fire Protection Engineer

Jensen Hughes seeks Associate Fire Protection Engineers for their Austin and Allen, Texas offices to join a team of 1,800+ professionals. Recent graduates (2023-2026) are encouraged to apply and will receive mentorship under experienced engineers while developing expertise in fire protection design, code compliance, and safety systems.

What you'll do

• Perform fire protection engineering services including life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, and fire alarm design under supervision
• Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards
• Conduct building code analyses, egress evaluations, and fire detection/alarm system reviews
• Perform field investigations and inspections to resolve design problems and verify calculations
• Apply engineering calculations for sprinkler systems, water supplies, smoke control, and means of egress
• Prepare CAD documents and submit progress reports to project managers
