Jensen Hughes seeks an experienced Fire and Egress Modeling Engineer to lead computational modeling projects for diverse building types. The role combines technical expertise in fire dynamics and occupant evacuation analysis with project management and client advisory responsibilities across multiple office locations.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute fire and egress models using advanced computational tools for high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, and transportation hubs
- Apply performance-based design principles to assess fire and life safety strategies including smoke control and evacuation plans
- Interpret and ensure compliance with building and fire codes (NFPA, IBC, ASCE) and relevant standards
- Conduct risk assessments evaluating fire event impacts and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate modeling into building design
- Mentor junior engineers on modeling techniques, software tools, and industry best practices
