Machine Learning Intern- Immediate Start

About this role

Join Jaan Health's AI team as a Machine Learning Intern working on cutting-edge NLP and LLM research for healthcare applications. You'll design and prototype machine learning models, conduct applied research, and help translate findings into production systems that improve patient outcomes.

What you'll do

• Design and prototype novel ML approaches in NLP, LLMs, and transformer architectures for healthcare
• Conduct applied research through experimentation, evaluation, and iterative model development
• Develop prompting strategies, fine-tuning techniques, and retrieval workflows
• Build evaluation frameworks connecting model performance to real healthcare outcomes
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy AI features
• Work with large healthcare datasets and document methodologies and findings

• Deep learning and NLP expertise
• PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face
• Python programming
• Machine learning experimentation and data analysis
• LLM evaluation and fine-tuning

• Ability to work with messy, real-world datasets
