Fuels Process Engineer

About this role

Kairos Power seeks a Process Engineer to design and optimize chemical process equipment for advanced nuclear fuel (TRISO particle) fabrication. You'll develop specifications, oversee commissioning, and collaborate across engineering and operations teams to implement and improve fuel production processes.

What you'll do

• Interpret and develop Process Flow Diagrams, heat/material balances, and equipment specifications for TRISO fuel fabrication
• Size and specify equipment including tanks, vessels, valves, pumps, and instrumentation based on process requirements
• Develop manufacturing drawings, equipment lists, and data sheets for custom-designed equipment
• Interface with vendors for equipment procurement and coordinate commissioning plans with operations teams
• Provide technical oversight of fuel fabrication processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Partner with manufacturing teams on equipment assembly, testing, and certification of process skids
