About this role
At Kargo, our mission is to build a connective tissue between the physical world of freight and the digital ecosystem used to manage it. We believe that advancements in smart infrastructure are critical to enabling a safer and more efficient future for logistics. Our loading dock sensor platform verifies all incoming and outgoing freight, aggregating data that enables shippers and carriers to efficiently manage dock operations, switch out suppliers and understand material flow in real time.
We care deeply about delivering the best solutions for our customers. As a member of the Kargo team, you will have the opportunity to develop and deploy tomorrow’s hardware & software solutions and help revolutionize logistics.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to Field Operations Technicians during hardware installations, repairs, and maintenance, helping troubleshoot issues and ensure successful deployments.
- Monitor deployed hardware, investigate system alerts and device downtime, and troubleshoot issues to maintain reliable operations.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation to streamline deployment and support processes.
- Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies, develop solutions, and automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with software engineers to troubleshoot technical challenges, improve internal tools, and translate field feedback into actionable requirements.
- Help pilot new internal tools and workflows with Field Operations, gather feedback, and support continuous improvements.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in a hands-on technical role, such as IT support, field service, electronics repair, hardware testing, or lab operations. Relevant internships, bootcamp training, and technical projects are welcome.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, preferred.
- Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+ or relevant technical coursework, a plus.
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting or query language, such as Python, SQL, Bash, or PowerShell, with the ability to write simple queries and read table structures.
- An automation mindset, would rather write a script than repeat the same task 50 times, but is willing to grind through the tedious work until it’s automated.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both field technicians and software engineers.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware devices, networking connectivity, or IoT systems, a plus.
- Experience working with technical equipment, sensors, or embedded devices, a plus.
