Java Software Engineer, K4B

About this role

KAYAK, a leading travel search engine owned by Booking Holdings, is hiring a Java Software Engineer to build features and maintain their platform while working with large-scale data processing. The role involves developing backend solutions, integrating APIs, and collaborating with experienced developers in a fast-paced environment, with a requirement to work from the Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do

• Extract, parse, clean, and process data from databases using scripts
• Integrate with APIs via REST, SOAP, and other web service protocols
• Configure enterprise applications for large customers
• Develop debugging and diagnostic tools for existing products
• Collaborate with experienced development teams on diverse projects

What they're looking for

• Java programming (2-3 years experience)
• Data structures, algorithms, and software design fundamentals
• Relational databases (MySQL, Oracle)
• Spring & MyBatis frameworks
• REST API and web service development
• Unix shell scripting
• DOM, XPath, jQuery, and CSS
• Machine Learning (preferred)
