Software Engineer II, Data Automation

About this role

Klaviyo seeks a Software Engineer II to join the Data Automation team, building infrastructure tooling and systems that enable the company's real-time data platform to scale on AWS. You'll design and maintain mission-critical analytics infrastructure while collaborating cross-functionally with a team of engineers.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure provisioning and testing systems
• Develop high-quality code and tooling for Data Platform engineers
• Operate and scale large production systems handling mission-critical analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure design and implementation
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges in distributed systems

What they're looking for

• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python preferred)
• Distributed systems design and operation on cloud platforms
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools)
• Database expertise (OLTP, OLAP, MySQL, DynamoDB, Clickhouse)
• High-volume data processing systems (Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow)
• Performance tuning and system scaling
• Linux operating systems
• Collaborative communication and problem-solving
