Functional Safety Engineer, Software

About this role

Kodiak Robotics seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to develop and manage safety cases for their autonomous trucking systems. You'll apply ISO 26262 and SOTIF principles to design, verify, and validate safety-critical software for self-driving vehicles.

What you'll do

• Define technical safety requirements for autonomous vehicle operational domains
• Lead software safety requirement specifications and architectural design
• Develop test plans and verification reports for software units and integration
• Perform safety analyses including dependent failure analysis per ISO 26262
• Support hardware-software interface development and safety measures
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on compliance assessment
