Vehicle Integration Engineer - Field Support

About this role

Kodiak Robotics seeks a Vehicle Integration Engineer to support field operations of autonomous trucking systems, maintaining fleet uptime and resolving complex technical issues at customer sites. You'll lead cross-functional troubleshooting, drive reliability improvements, and bridge customer needs with engineering teams while traveling frequently to deployment locations.

What you'll do

• Respond to field failures and support requests to maximize system uptime across deployed fleets
• Travel to customer sites (30%+ travel) to troubleshoot and resolve multi-domain technical issues
• Lead root cause analysis across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software systems
• Support design changes through prototyping, testing, and on-site validation
• Develop diagnostic tools and strategies to detect failure modes faster
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on autonomous platforms

• Hardware debugging and assembly in autonomous or robotics systems
• Automotive and embedded electronics troubleshooting
• Communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, 100BASE-T1)
• Linux environments and terminal-based diagnostics
• Programming languages (Python, C++, C, Bash, or ROS)
• Root cause analysis and cross-functional problem-solving
