Verification & Validation System Engineer

About this role

Kodiak Robotics seeks a V&V System Engineer to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies for autonomous vehicles across simulation, hardware, and on-road environments. You'll develop structured test plans, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure autonomous systems meet safety and performance requirements before release.

What you'll do

• Define and implement verification and validation methods across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle testing environments
• Develop structured test plans and procedures to evaluate autonomy features for software releases and key milestones
• Collaborate with software, hardware, operations, and safety teams to scope and execute tests aligned with requirements
• Build tools to automate test execution, data extraction, and results reporting for improved efficiency
• Analyze test failures, identify unexpected behaviors, and support root cause analysis and resolution
• Support software release readiness through test completion tracking and final documentation
