Verification & Validation System Engineer, Assisted Autonomy

About this role

Kodiak Robotics seeks a Verification & Validation System Engineer to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies for assisted autonomy systems across multiple environments—from remote operation centers to on-road vehicles. You'll ensure safety and performance compliance for autonomous trucking features through rigorous test planning, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

• Define and implement verification and validation methods across remote operations, hardware-in-the-loop labs, and on-road testing environments
• Develop and maintain test plans and procedures for remote assistance features aligned with hardware/software releases and milestones
• Analyze test results, identify regressions and failures, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution
• Build automation tools for test execution, data extraction, and results reporting to improve efficiency and repeatability
• Collaborate with operators, trainers, and cross-functional teams to align operational use cases with safety requirements
• Expand test suite coverage for edge cases and diverse operational conditions across autonomous platforms
