About this role
Lambda, a leader in AI cloud infrastructure, is hiring a Data Center Operations Systems Engineer to manage GPU and networking infrastructure at their Kansas City facility. This role involves hardware deployment, troubleshooting, inventory management, and cross-team coordination to support large-scale AI compute operations. The position requires full-time on-site presence with 24/7 shift coverage.
What you'll do
- Rack, cable, label, and configure new server, storage, and network infrastructure including advanced GPU systems
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on high-end GPU and networking equipment
- Maintain data center documentation and network topology in DCIM software
- Coordinate with supply chain teams on equipment deployment and large-scale project planning
- Manage parts depot inventory and track equipment through the delivery and deployment lifecycle
- Partner with hardware support and RMA teams to resolve incidents and manage faulty equipment returns
What they're looking for
- Data center critical infrastructure (power distribution, cooling, environmental monitoring, capacity planning)
- DCIM software and structured cabling management
- Fiber optics testing and DIA circuit troubleshooting
- Single and three-phase power theory and PDU balancing
- Server hardware knowledge and boot processes
- Cable media types and cold/hot aisle containment
- High Performance Compute GPU systems (preferred: Nvidia NVL72)
- Linux administration and ticketing systems (JIRA, Zendesk preferred)
