Overall Responsibilities

This Senior Manager of Business Planning role leads business planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, risk analysis, and executive reporting to support strategic and operational decisions. The position is part of the leadership team and will analyze market intelligence, financial, operational, and workforce data to develop accurate financial models and performance insights to strengthen reporting processes and communicate business results. The role will be integral in communicating the business outlook to local management and our Korean headquarters and the parent company.

Major Tasks Listed Below

  • Provide market and business intelligence on automotive and EV industry trends, OEM customer outlooks, competitive developments, and other relevant market dynamics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze customer programs, vehicle and production volumes, pricing, profitability, and other key business drivers within an automotive or B2B manufacturing environment.
  • Incorporate market, customer, competitive, and industry insights into mid- and long-term business planning, forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Assess business opportunities, risks, and sensitivities through scenario analysis to inform investment decisions, resource allocation, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term business plans, budgets, forecasts, cash flow plans, and risk outlooks.
  • Analyze and forecast financial, economic, operational, and workforce data to provide timely, data-driven insights for strategic and operational decision-making and business scenario planning.
  • Lead complex financial analyses and business plan evaluations, providing management with recommendations that support company objectives and performance improvement.
  • Serve as a cross-functional business partner, bringing a customer and commercial perspective to align Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance on business priorities and execution.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive management reports and presentations on business operations, financial performance, forecasts, and outlooks in English and Korean.
  • Develop and implement improved processes, procedures, and methods for financial analysis, reporting, performance tracking, and presentations; monitor their effectiveness and support KPI and organizational development.
  • Monitor revenue, expenditures, and financial performance; maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and other transactions, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company’s revenue recognition policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of professional finance experience.
  • Fluency in English and Korean, conversational or higher level of expertise is desirable to interpret the law and regulation in both US and Korea.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide market and business intelligence and translate customer, competitive, and industry insights into strategic business plans, forecasts, and growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of B2B manufacturing business drivers, including customer programs, pricing, profitability, volume, revenue, cost structure, and operational performance.
  • Advanced skills in mid- and long-term business planning, forecasting, opportunity assessment, risk analysis, and scenario modeling built on the analysis financial and business data.
  • Ability to evaluate business plans, investment opportunities, resource requirements, sensitivities, and risks, and develop clear recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cash flow planning, financial performance tracking, revenue recognition principles, and the maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and key business drivers, and convert findings into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, data analysis, and reporting tools, including Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation software.
  • Ability to develop and improve processes, procedures, performance measures, reporting methods, and analytical approaches to support KPI improvement and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Korean headquarters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration or a relevant professional credential, such as Project Management Professional, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, or another recognized finance certification.
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience with business intelligence or enterprise planning systems such as SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry, including OEM customers, vehicle programs, production volumes, market trends, competitive dynamics, and relevant industry developments.
  • Strong customer and commercial orientation, with the ability to understand business priorities and align stakeholders around strategic objectives and execution.
