Integration Engineer

About this role

Light seeks an Integration Engineer to build and operate connectors between its financial platform and external systems like banking APIs, e-invoicing networks, and tax platforms. This backend-focused role demands expertise in handling complex, unforgiving third-party APIs where data integrity and reliability are non-negotiable.

What you'll do

• Build integrations with corporate banking and payments APIs (J.P. Morgan, HSBC, etc.) including payment initiation, account information, and FX handling
• Design multi-tenant integrations ensuring proper credential isolation, configuration management, and data separation across customer entities
• Connect Light to global e-invoicing networks and country-specific compliance regimes (Peppol, national mandates)
• Implement reliability patterns including idempotency, retries, webhook/polling strategies, and end-to-end reconciliation
• Integrate tax platforms for statutory filing and sales tax reporting
• Manage authentication schemes including certificate-based auth, mTLS, OAuth, and handle format standards like ISO 20022 and SWIFT

• Backend development (Kotlin experience preferred)
