Lightmatter
Power Integrity Engineer
About this role
Lightmatter seeks a Power Integrity Engineer to design and validate Power Delivery Networks for next-generation photonics-based AI data center systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize PDN performance from architecture through lab validation, working across digital, analog, and photonics domains.
What you'll do
- Design and analyze Power Delivery Networks for SoC domains, from voltage regulators to on-chip decoupling capacitors
- Model regulator characteristics and select appropriate controllers and passive components
- Use 2.5D EM solvers to extract impedance profiles and generate N-port models
- Perform time-domain and frequency-domain simulations to evaluate rail behavior and identify voltage droop or overshoot
- Conduct lab measurements with programmable loads and oscilloscopes to validate PDN designs
- Collaborate with hardware designers and layout engineers to implement improvements and provide design recommendations
What they're looking for
- Power Delivery Network (PDN) design and analysis
- PowerSI, PowerDC, IDEM, H-Spice, Keysight ADS simulation tools
- DC-DC converter design
- PCB design and layout (layer stack-up, power planes, capacitor placement)
- Lab equipment operation (oscilloscopes, programmable loads, network analyzers)
- Time-domain and frequency-domain analysis
- 2.5D/3D packaging technologies
- Scripting languages (Python, Matlab, TCL, Skill)
Benefits
- Comprehensive health care (medical, dental, vision)
- Retirement savings matching program
- Generous time off including paid family leave
- Life insurance and disability coverage
- Equity grants for full-time employees
- Flexible, hybrid workplace model
