Signal Integrity Engineer
About this role
Lightmatter seeks a Signal Integrity Engineer to design and validate high-speed photonics interconnects for next-generation AI data center systems. You'll analyze signal characteristics, run simulations, and collaborate across hardware teams to ensure stringent performance requirements are met from concept through lab validation.
What you'll do
- Execute signal integrity analysis and simulations for high-speed interfaces (PCIe, UCIe, SerDes), including eye diagrams and jitter assessment
- Characterize channel behavior using S-parameters, insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk measurements to optimize signal quality
- Perform lab measurements with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and TDRs to validate designs and troubleshoot performance issues
- Advise hardware and PCB layout engineers on impedance matching, termination, routing, and layer stack-up strategies
- Document analysis results and design guidelines, presenting findings to stakeholders at design reviews
- Write scripts to automate simulation workflows using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
