Network Security Software Engineer

About this role

Lumin Digital seeks a senior Network Security Software Engineer to build and operate a modern network security program from the ground up. You'll architect automated, identity-aware security controls across cloud and hybrid environments, develop production-grade tooling using AI-assisted development practices, and partner across teams to embed network security into fintech infrastructure pipelines.

What you'll do

• Design and implement automated, end-to-end network security change management pipelines eliminating manual work and maintaining audit compliance
• Build real-time network telemetry and monitoring systems with integrated threat intelligence feeds and unified visibility
• Engineer production tooling for firewall rule lifecycle management, policy drift detection, and compliance validation using Python and infrastructure-as-code
• Architect identity-aware, policy-driven controls across cloud, SD-WAN, and zero-trust network access layers
• Direct AI coding agents to build secure agentic pipelines and manage integrations across Cloudflare, Zscaler, and cloud-native security platforms
• Operate detection capabilities including IDS/IPS and WAF configuration; support compliance audits and maintain network diagrams

What they're looking for

• Network security fundamentals (firewalls, micro-segmentation, ZTNA, SD-WAN, DDoS mitigation)
• Python or Go backend development with API design and production-grade tooling experience
• Cloud-native security platforms (Cloudflare, Zscaler, Palo Alto)
• Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation
• AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor)
• DNS security, PKI/certificate management, and traffic analysis
• Fintech/regulated financial services environment knowledge (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Network telemetry, IDS/IPS configuration, and threat intelligence integration
