About this role
Lumos seeks an experienced OSP Construction Project Engineer to oversee fiber network builds in the Beaumont, Texas market. You'll manage contractor performance, ensure quality and safety compliance, and drive multiple construction projects from readiness through closeout while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Oversee multiple OSP fiber construction projects from start to completion, managing timelines and budgets
- Set expectations for contractors and subcontractors, holding teams accountable for safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Inspect active jobsites to verify compliance with OSHA, NESC, and construction standards
- Track production metrics, costs, risks, and progress while communicating updates to stakeholders
- Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, and municipal dependencies to maintain construction momentum
- Resolve field challenges and community concerns while partnering across Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain

- OSP and fiber construction expertise (aerial, underground, buried)
- Contractor and project management across multiple concurrent builds
- OSHA and NESC compliance knowledge
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Sitetracker or Smartsheet experience (preferred)
- FTTH and telecommunications construction knowledge (preferred)
