Structural Engineer - Full Vehicle Concepts

Mach Industries is looking for a Structural Engineer to lead the conceptual design of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) within a defense technology company. The role emphasizes early-stage design analysis, structural configuration, and mentorship for junior engineers in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What you'll do

• Develop primary structural configurations for UAS concepts
• Convert vehicle concepts into structural layouts and FEM models
• Conduct trade studies on structural mass vs performance
• Ensure design decisions align with concept-level choices
• Mentor junior analysts and designers in best practices
• Participate in design reviews and present structural metrics

What they're looking for

• 5-10+ years in aerospace structural design/analysis
• Leadership in early design phases
• Experience in FEM model building for aircraft
• Strong knowledge of structural mechanics
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in FEMAP and NASTRAN (preferred)
• Startup environment experience (preferred)
