About this role
MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk's operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.
About the Team
Core is the heart of the MaintainX CMMS: the work orders, planning and scheduling, inventory and parts, reporting, and asset hierarchy that frontline teams touch every day. It is also where some of our newest investment is happening, including two newly formed teams building a Work Execution Platform and a rebuilt Technician Experience from scratch. If you want to work close to what customers use daily, and have a chance at green-field ownership, this is the place.
Teams You Might Join
Planners: Planner and scheduler workflows, plus Operating Hours.
Inventory Management / Parts: Spare parts, purchase orders, forecasting and vendors.
Home / Reporting: The Overview screen, plus shared and scheduled reports.
Work Execution Platform: The work order primitives the product runs on: recurrence, assignment, calendar, procedures, automations and permits.
Technician Experience: GPS check-in, field UX and offline state for technicians in the field.
Enterprise Data Management: Global, multi-site platform capabilities, templates, asset hierarchy and location, and dynamic asset forms.
What You'll Work On
Set the technical direction for the workflows customers use every day, from scheduling and parts management to reporting.
Solve hard product problems: dense, data-heavy interfaces, large datasets, offline behaviour and multi-site scale.
On our newly formed teams, define architecture and engineering practices from the ground up.
Make complex workflows feel simple on desktop and mobile.
The Role
Lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, from planning through production.
Partner directly with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership to shape your team’s roadmap and influence the roadmaps of adjacent teams.
Own the long-term technical health of a domain: reliability, performance, and the parts of the codebase nobody notices until they break.
Drive architecture decisions and write the technical proposals others build against.
Mentor senior and staff engineers, and set the standard for code review on your team.
Raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams, not just your own.
Our core stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MySQL. Some teams use C# or Python. You don't need to already know every piece of it to apply. You'll land on a team of 5 to 10 people and take on-call rotation as part of the role. Within your first 6 months, you’ll own the technical direction of a domain or system outright.
Where We Work
We don't have a minimum in-office mandate, but we prefer our teams to be located around our office hubs. In Canada this includes: Montreal and Toronto.
We're Looking For
10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products, including a track record of leading technical work at a scope beyond a single team.
Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
Experience designing systems that held up at scale, and the judgment to know when not to build something.
Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development.
A track record of writing maintainable, testable code you’re comfortable handing off to someone else.
Strong written and verbal communication: you can explain a technical tradeoff to a designer, a support lead, or an executive as easily as to another developer.
Comfort making progress on a problem before the spec is fully settled, adjusting as you learn more.
Day-to-day use of AI tools in your development workflow, not just occasional experimentation.
Nice to have: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience. For this area, we also value: Experience with scheduling or calendar UIs, data-heavy front ends, offline-first or sync architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, or inventory and transactional systems.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
