About this role

This role seeks a Robot Autonomy Engineer to develop the decision-making software for robots in industrial settings. You will design and implement the autonomy stack, integrating elements like task planning, behavior planning, and motion planning, while also incorporating LLM/VLM reasoning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics and experience deploying algorithms onto real hardware.

What you'll do

  • Develop the autonomy stack for task planning, behavior planning, path planning, and trajectory planning.
  • Design behavior architectures for long-horizon tasks with recovery and operator handoff mechanisms.
  • Implement task planning strategies using classical AI or decision-theoretic planning techniques.
  • Coordinate motion for multiple robots in an industrial facility.
  • Integrate LLM and VLM reasoning into planning processes.
  • Evaluate planner performance through simulation and real-world testing.

What they're looking for

  • Python
  • Task Planning (STRIPS, PDDL, HTN, MDP, POMDP)
  • LLMs/VLMs
  • ROS 2
  • Drake/OMPL/MoveIt
