Software Engineer II, Network Operations

About this role

Marqeta is seeking a Network Engineer II to oversee and enhance their physical network infrastructure, driving projects to meet team goals while solving complex issues. The position requires collaboration with team members and partners, along with managing and troubleshooting various networking elements.

What you'll do

• Deploy and maintain Palo Alto firewalls
• Manage network hardware in colocation facilities
• Configure Meraki corporate networking solutions
• Implement and manage VPN solutions
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure
• Monitor network performance and implement QoS policies

What they're looking for

• Networking concepts and protocols
• Palo Alto firewall management
• Experience with VPN technologies
• Routing protocols knowledge (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Meraki
• Network monitoring tools familiarity
• Scripting languages for automation (Python, Bash)
• Strong problem-solving skills
