Join Muon Space as a Mechanical Engineer II to lead end-to-end mechanical execution of satellite missions, from platform customization and component design through integration, testing, and launch vehicle delivery. You'll collaborate with structural and thermal analysis teams while managing CAD assemblies, documentation, and cross-functional coordination in a hybrid role in San Jose.

What you'll do

  • Own mechanical execution of assigned missions from requirements through design, build, integration, and environmental testing
  • Design payload accommodations and mission-specific components tailored to customer needs using platform building blocks
  • Create and manage spacecraft-level mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks with configuration control
  • Perform structural and thermal sizing calculations and partner with analysis teams for detailed studies
  • Produce engineering documentation including drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and budgets through ECO/DCO processes
  • Support environmental test campaigns and spacecraft integration while writing build procedures
