About this role

Muon is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze spacecraft components within a small, dynamic team. The role requires hands-on involvement in the entire lifecycle of electromechanical products, from design to testing, emphasizing collaboration and comprehensive knowledge across various engineering disciplines.

What you'll do

  • Create and refine mechanical designs for spacecraft using SolidWorks
  • Conduct stress and dynamic analyses to support structural design
  • Develop assembly procedures and oversee integration of components
  • Design test fixtures and develop testing protocols
  • Document engineering drawings and maintain configuration control
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with GD&T and BOMs
  • Skills in stress and dynamic analysis
  • Understanding of test design and execution
  • Strong documentation and writing abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with hardware builds and integration
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with multiple teams
