About this role

Neighbor is seeking an experienced software engineer to help build a rapidly growing hyperlocal marketplace operating across all 50 states. You'll work with modern technologies like TypeScript, React, and Ruby on Rails to develop scalable marketplace systems while having significant influence over product features and architecture in an early-stage, well-funded startup.

What you'll do

  • Build and optimize scalable marketplace technologies using TypeScript, React, and Ruby on Rails
  • Design and implement performant, automated systems powering the Neighbor.com platform
  • Define product features and contribute to consumer-facing marketplace functionality
  • Influence system architecture decisions and ensure engineering excellence
  • Take ownership of substantial projects with meaningful business impact
  • Collaborate on infrastructure and AWS ecosystem implementations
