Neros is looking for a CODEC Video Compression Engineer/Developer to design and implement advanced low-latency video compression algorithms for real-time applications. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance video quality and efficiency in wireless transmission for drone systems.

What you'll do

  • Design dual CPU/GPU hybrid video compression encoder architecture
  • Develop and optimize video compression algorithms in C/C++ or similar languages
  • Implement and optimize encoder/decoder pipelines for real-time use
  • Conduct performance benchmarking and quality assurance testing
  • Collaborate with hardware/software teams for integration of CODEC solutions
  • Stay updated on emerging video standards and industry trends

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding of video compression theory and standards
  • Codec implementation experience
  • Experience with hardware implementations (FPGAs, ASICs)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and SIMD optimizations
  • Multithreading and performance profiling experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of backend development (FFmpeg, GStreamer) [optional]
