About this role
Northwood seeks an embedded software engineering intern to develop and test embedded Linux systems for satellite ground stations. You'll work on real production projects involving hardware integration, OTA updates, and system-level debugging while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Develop and test software for Linux-based embedded devices
- Contribute to embedded Linux tooling, system configuration, and user-space applications
- Debug hardware-software integration issues with firmware and hardware engineers
- Work with communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB) and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Develop and improve over-the-air software update capabilities
- Own an internship project and present findings at the end of the term
