Infrastructure Engineer - Early Career

About this role

Northwood Space seeks an early-career Infrastructure Engineer to join their team building satellite ground station networks. You'll gain broad exposure across cloud infrastructure, containers, and observability while receiving mentorship to develop deep expertise in areas of interest.

What you'll do

• Learn and work across AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Vault, and observability tools with guidance from senior engineers
• Execute scoped infrastructure tasks including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling
• Shadow on-call rotations, triage incidents, and participate in post-incident reviews
• Write documentation including runbooks, design notes, and component documentation for owned work
• Pair with senior engineers on larger projects to build decision-making patterns
• Contribute to cross-stack infrastructure improvements and tooling

What they're looking for

• Linux and networking fundamentals
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Git version control
• Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages
• At least one major cloud provider (preferably AWS)
• Written communication and technical documentation
• Kubernetes or containerization experience (preferred)
• Networking, security, or observability knowledge (preferred)
