Software Engineer, Security

About this role

Notion seeks an experienced Security Engineer to lead cross-functional security initiatives spanning authentication, authorization, and AI safety. You'll own critical infrastructure migrations and guardrail systems while coordinating across multiple engineering teams to advance enterprise security and AI agent capabilities.

What you'll do

• Modernize authentication systems across product surfaces (SAML/OIDC, OAuth, passkeys, CSP) with multi-quarter rollout strategies
• Build and operate AI safety guardrail infrastructure including prompt-injection protections and content provenance systems
• Drive authorization platform architecture decisions and ship reusable security primitives for product teams
• Own end-to-end P0 security programs from RFC through execution and risk measurement
• Develop AI-leveraged internal security tools to improve triage, verification, and continuous security checks
• Mentor teams and establish security engineering standards to reduce vulnerability classes organization-wide

• 10+ years security engineering experience
