About this role

About Nox Metals. American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. Nox Metals is building it, along with the tools that run it. We’re a technology company with operations in Metro Detroit and Los Angeles, supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

The role. We’re hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to make the systems behind Nox secure, observable, and dependable. You will own the foundations that connect our applications, data, employees, and factory operations across Los Angeles and Ferndale.

This role crosses cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, identity, security, networking, and incident response. You will automate repetitive work and still be willing to troubleshoot directly when the factory cannot wait.

You will

  • Build and operate reliable cloud infrastructure and deployment systems

  • Improve CI/CD, observability, alerting, backups, and disaster recovery

  • Manage identity, access, secrets, endpoints, and core security controls

  • Support reliable connectivity across offices, factories, applications, and equipment

  • Automate infrastructure and configuration wherever practical

  • Lead incident response and write clear follow-up actions

  • Partner with application engineers to improve performance and reliability

  • Reduce single points of failure and undocumented dependencies

  • Maintain practical documentation and runbooks

  • Evaluate vendors and tooling based on security, reliability, and cost

You are

  • A strong troubleshooter across applications, cloud systems, networks, and devices

  • Security-minded without making the organization impossible to operate

  • Comfortable automating work through code

  • Disciplined about change management, monitoring, and recovery

  • Calm and methodical during incidents

  • Clear in documentation and communication

  • Willing to work directly with both engineers and factory teams

  • Someone who fixes root causes, not just the latest symptom

Nice to have

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, containers, CI/CD, and PostgreSQL

  • Experience with factory, warehouse, edge, or industrial networks

  • Experience with compliance or security programs

  • Experience supporting a distributed, fast-growing organization

Benefits

  • Equity in Nox Metals

  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance

This role is full time, in person in either Los Angeles or Ferndale, Michigan.
