Fire Protection Engineer

About this role

Oklo is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to enhance fire safety systems at their power plants, with opportunities for both on-site and remote work. The ideal candidate should have experience in fire protection system design within the nuclear or industrial sectors and a strong capacity for creative problem-solving.

What you'll do

• Establish fire protection requirements for plant design
• Develop fire hazard analyses and licensing documentation
• Define equipment architecture and specifications
• Lead design of fire protection equipment
• Manage projects with third-party consultants
• Document work with technical reports

What they're looking for

• Engineering education (Fire Protection, Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical)
• Experience in fire protection design
• Familiarity with engineering principles
• Knowledge of Nuclear facility regulations (NRC/DOE)
• Proficient in NFPA 804 and NFPA 850
• Ability to communicate technical concepts
• Creative problem-solving mindset
• Excellent writing and documentation skills
