AI Deployment Engineer, Startups

About this role

OpenAI seeks an AI Deployment Engineer to partner with frontier startups in Stockholm, helping them optimize their use of advanced AI systems while gathering insights that improve OpenAI's products and research. You'll bridge customer needs and model quality by debugging workflows, designing evaluations, and collaborating across teams to drive durable improvements.

What you'll do

• Work directly with strategic startup customers to understand workflows, uncover failure modes, and identify improvement opportunities
• Prototype and iterate on prompts, agents, and workflow designs to improve system behavior
• Synthesize customer feedback into reproducible evaluations, benchmarks, and technical artifacts for product and research teams
• Build repeatable tools, patterns, and evaluation approaches across multiple use cases
• Balance immediate technical problem-solving with longer-term system improvements in ambiguous environments
• Develop relationships with startups, serving as a technical partner to individual customers and the broader community
