AI Success Engineer - NYC

About this role

OpenAI seeks an AI Success Engineer to serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers, guiding them from initial deployment through scaled adoption of AI capabilities. This role combines technical depth with program management and customer strategy to drive measurable business impact and platform expansion.

What you'll do

• Lead technical relationships with post-sale customers and serve as trusted advisor on deployment and value realization
• Own account health, adoption velocity, and ongoing technical success across customer portfolio
• Identify and validate use cases by embedding with customer teams to understand workflows and pain points
• Conduct technical enablement sessions across OpenAI products and lead configuration activities
• Translate customer objectives into actionable adoption roadmaps with clear milestones and KPIs
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and Research to surface feedback and align teams on customer outcomes

What they're looking for

• Technical account management or customer-facing technical delivery (8+ years)
• Deep OpenAI product knowledge including APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns
• Python or JavaScript coding proficiency
• REST APIs, cloud platforms, and CI/CD familiarity
• Enterprise security and compliance concepts (SSO, encryption, GDPR, HIPAA)
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language
• Workflow analysis and business process optimization
• Cross-functional program coordination and stakeholder management
