About this role
OpenAI seeks an AI Success Engineer to be the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers, guiding them from initial deployment through scaled adoption. You'll blend technical expertise with program management to drive measurable business value, working across customer teams, internal stakeholders, and product groups to ensure successful AI integration and strategic use case implementation.
What you'll do
- Serve as primary technical contact and trusted advisor for post-sale enterprise customers on deployment, adoption, and value realization
- Own account health and adoption velocity by managing technical deployments, configurations, and success across customer portfolio
- Identify and validate high-impact use cases by embedding with customer teams to understand workflows, pain points, and business objectives
- Create actionable adoption roadmaps with clear sequencing, milestones, KPIs, and guide customers toward production-ready implementations
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and Research to surface customer feedback and technical blockers
- Facilitate workshops on use case design, best practices, and internal enablement while measuring impact through baseline and post-deployment reporting
What they're looking for
- Technical account management or customer success in enterprise software/AI deployment roles
- Deep knowledge of OpenAI APIs, SDKs, embeddings, retrieval augmentation, fine-tuning, and model behavior
- Python or JavaScript programming with hands-on API and SDK experience
- Enterprise security concepts including SSO, encryption, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA)
- Cloud platforms, CI/CD, containers, and REST API integration
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language for executive stakeholders
- Program management and cross-functional coordination across complex customer deployments
- Workflow mapping and change management expertise
