About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced AI Support Engineer to provide world-class technical support to U.S. Government agencies and public sector customers operating under FedRAMP requirements. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, partner with Engineering and Product teams, and help define the future of support in an AGI-driven environment while leveraging automation and AI to scale operations.

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues for government and public sector customers, translating security and compliance requirements into actionable solutions
  • Serve as an escalation point and trusted expert on OpenAI's products and platform, partnering with customers and Engineering teams
  • Use scripting and AI capabilities to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve internal tooling
  • Collaborate with Product and Go-To-Market teams to scale solutions derived from customer issue patterns
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying automation opportunities and implementing scalable improvements
  • Provide occasional on-call support during holidays and weekends as needed
