About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced AI Support Engineer to serve government and public sector customers, troubleshooting complex technical issues and resolving mission-critical problems on OpenAI's platform. You'll work directly with customers via tickets and live calls while partnering with Engineering and Product teams to scale solutions and drive operational excellence through automation and AI-powered workflows.

What you'll do

  • Support U.S. Government agencies and FedRAMP-compliant customers by troubleshooting complex issues and addressing security/compliance requirements
  • Serve as escalation point for high-impact technical problems, partnering with customers and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and prevent recurring issues
  • Develop expertise on OpenAI's products and platform, becoming a trusted resource for complex technical guidance
  • Create automation and AI-powered workflows using scripting and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Translate learnings from customer issues into scalable solutions, partnering with Product and Go-To-Market teams
  • Provide occasional on-call support including holidays and weekends as needed
