Analytics Engineer, SMB

About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced Analytics Engineer to join its Go-To-Market data team in San Francisco or New York. You'll partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build data infrastructure, define metrics, and deliver insights that drive strategic business decisions around revenue, pricing, and customer usage.

What you'll do

• Partner with GTM team to identify and solve high-impact analytics problems
• Build scalable data pipelines for collection, cleaning, and analysis across multiple sources
• Define, track, and operationalize key business metrics to foster data-driven decision-making
• Develop dashboards and self-serve reporting tools to empower independent data exploration
• Manage cross-functional projects spanning revenue, pricing, usage, and related business areas
• Communicate complex data insights through presentations, memos, and visualizations

What they're looking for

• Advanced SQL and ETL workflow design
• Python or other quantitative programming languages
• Business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker)
• Custom visualization libraries (Streamlit, Plotly Dash)
• Metric definition and analytics problem structuring
• Data storytelling and stakeholder communication
• Ability to navigate ambiguous, high-impact problems independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
