Forward Deployed Engineer - Seoul

About this role

OpenAI seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead end-to-end production deployments of frontier AI models for strategic customers in Seoul. You'll own the full lifecycle from discovery and design through rollout, working closely with customers and internal teams to drive adoption and generate feedback that shapes product roadmaps.

What you'll do

• Own technical delivery of multiple deployments from prototype to stable production
• Build full-stack systems that deliver measurable customer value and learning
• Embed with customer teams to understand needs and guide adoption of solutions
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers to protect timelines
• Contribute hands-on code when needed and document patterns into reusable tools
• Share field feedback with Research and Product teams to improve models

What they're looking for

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience with customer interaction
• Production-grade full-stack development in Python, JavaScript, or similar
• Experience building or deploying LLM-powered or generative AI systems
• Complex system scoping and delivery in fast-moving environments
• Clear communication across engineers, product, and customer stakeholders
• Risk identification and sound decision-making under pressure
• Simplifying complexity in ambiguous situations
• Calm judgment and composure in high-stakes scenarios
