Forward Deployed Engineer - UAE

About this role

OpenAI seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with customers in Abu Dhabi, leading complex deployments of frontier AI models from prototype to production. You'll own full-stack solutions, coordinate across teams, and feed real-world insights back to shape the product roadmap.

What you'll do

• Own technical delivery across multiple customer deployments from initial prototype through stable production
• Build full-stack systems that integrate frontier models while delivering measurable customer value
• Embed with customer teams to understand needs, guide adoption, and ensure product success
• Scope work, sequence priorities, and remove blockers to maintain delivery momentum
• Contribute directly to production code when needed to unblock progress or add clarity
• Collect and communicate field feedback to Research and Product teams on model performance and gaps

What they're looking for

• 5+ years engineering or technical deployment experience with customer engagement
• Production-grade coding in Python, JavaScript, or equivalent stacks (frontend and backend)
• Experience building or deploying LLM-powered or generative model systems
• Complex system design and delivery in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
• Clear communication with engineers, product managers, and customer stakeholders
• Decision-making and risk identification under pressure
• Full-stack development and architectural thinking
