Product Engineer, Growth & AI Learning Experiences

About this role

OpenAI seeks a Product Engineer to build in-product learning experiences that help users develop AI literacy and confidence. You'll own end-to-end product features spanning design, frontend, backend, and instrumentation—connecting educational goals to measurable user outcomes across acquisition, activation, and retention.

What you'll do

• Design and build full-stack learning experiences embedded in OpenAI products, from prototype through launch and iteration
• Create adaptive onboarding flows, guided modules, practice environments, and feedback loops tailored to user skill levels
• Partner across product, design, content, research, data, and go-to-market teams to ship trustworthy learning features
• Instrument experiences to track usage, friction points, learning signals, and product quality metrics
• Turn ambiguous learning and product goals into clear user flows, reusable patterns, and measurable outcomes
• Balance speed, quality, scalability, and operational simplicity in a 0-to-1 product area
